Dear Parents
Thorns Primary School welcomes you and your family. We are so looking forward to meeting you and your child as they begin their time with us here at Thorns Primary School. Thorns Primary School is a happy, friendly school where we take time to get to know our pupils and their families. We know that starting school can be a daunting time for both children and their families and the current situation regarding Social Distancing makes this even more difficult but we will do our best to make sure you feel ready for September so that the children skip into school on their first day and quickly settle.
The Reception class will consist of 30 children and we have a team of staff who you will quickly get to know.
Usually, we would begin welcoming you into school during this term to get to know you and prepare you and your child for September, however as you are aware school is a little different at the moment and it has not been possible for us to do our usual induction. We are currently working on a plan for September to ensure we have the time to get to know you as a family and settle your child into school. Information regarding this will get to you as soon as we have confirmation from the Local Authority regarding the plans for September. During our Summer Induction we would usually be taking pictures of the children for peg labels, book labels and anything else the children need access to. As this has not been possible we would be extremely grateful if you could email us a picture of your child to info@thorns-p.dudley.sch.uk so that we can begin preparing these resources.
Also, keep a look out on our website as we will be posting a virtual tour of our classroom on our web pages for you and your child to look around.
