Hello Year 6, Remember that tomorrow is Bank Holiday to commemorate the 75th anniversary of VE Day. Let us know what you decided to do at your house- it is an important record of history! Write an diary entry to add to the one that that we did in the first week. It woud be great if you kept it going and built a record of this unusual time.

This week, our theme is 'Environment' but just for today only, there are a few optional activities for our Star Was fans celebrating 'Star Wars Day'. I hope that you manage to rewatch your favourite film today.

Remember that Friday 8th May is 75th anniversary of VE Day- which commemorated the official end of World War 2. This was to be big event in our country with a Bank Holiday on that day too. We now have to find another way to commemorate: I already have my invitation from my road to sing on my doorstep. There will not be work set on that day but it would be great if we could create a photographic memory for our own school archive. 

Below are some suggestions:

At the end of World War II, origami cranes came to symbolise peace, reflection and unity. An appropriate symbol for the situation now as well as a tribute to the soldiers of the war. Please photograph any that you make and send the picture to the school email address. I’ll look forward to hopefully seeing lots of origami cranes flying this way soon that can appear on Friday on the website.
