See what we have been getting up to in our Topic lessons this term.

This term we have been learning all about castles, kings and queens. As part of this we went on a visit to Warwick castle.

As part of our History lessons we explored the lives of some of the most famous Tudor kings and queens. We looked at Henry VIII and his 6 wives then moved on to explore Elizabeth I's reign. Through art lessons we developed our sketching skill by creating pastel portraits of King Henry VIII and improved our sculpting by making Tudor roses. Some examples of these can be seen below.

Using our knowledge we were set the challenge of designing, creating and testing castle that would be strong enough to withstand a battle. We built the castles from a range of recycled materials then took them outside to test them by throwing tennis balls at them in a mock battle.
