We trust everyone is keeping safe and well through these difficult times. We have a couple of items we would like to update you on:
We have attached a copy of our operating procedures to remind you how things are being organised in school. Children attending school are working through the same daily Power Points as children at home and are being supported by Teaching Assistants. Class Teachers are in school on a rota basis, and you will be advised when this is. Teachers will oversee the reading book swap. They may pop into class to say hello to the children on the days that they are in school and to have a look at their work and give feedback, just as they are doing for the children at home.
Our operating procedures can be accessed via the link at the bottom of this page.
When visiting school wherever possible only one person should attend to limit the number of visitors on site. Face coverings must be always worn, and social distancing observed. Book swaps and resource collecting will take place on allocated days and will take place at the entrance to the school hall.
Lateral Flow Tests
All staff have been issued with tests and as per Government guidance are testing twice weekly.
Class emails and the info email box will only be monitored during school hours. If you have any queries/questions, these will be answered the next working day, at the earliest opportunity. If your email is to send in work, then you will not receive a response as standard. Teachers will look at, and file, all work and will respond if there are any misconceptions or the need for further help is identified. Returning work every day is strongly recommended so that the window of opportunity to address a problem is not missed (e.g. it is too late on a Friday to find out that a child's maths has been wrong all week).
If you need to report a positive Covid result, this must be reported to Covid@thorns-p.dudley.sch.uk this email box will be monitored during school holidays and times of closure.
Free School Meals
If you are in receipt of income based free school meals, we have moved back to the Government voucher system from today (Monday 1st February). Vouchers should be delivered to your email address directly from Edenred. If you have any issues, please contact Edenred via this email firstname.lastname@example.org. During half term week the Government does not supply Edenred vouchers, but the Local Authority will supply vouchers, and these will come via the Wonde system as they did over Christmas holiday.
If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the school office where someone will be available to help you between 8.30am and 3.30pm daily.
Best wishes and keep safe and well
